Richland County Sheriff investigating drive-by shooting

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a drive-by shooting Sunday.

Just before 6 p.m., deputies responded to a report of shots fired on the 200 block of Jennie Collins Road in the Lower Richland area of Eastover, said public information officer Lt. Curtis Wilson, adding it was determined to be a drive-by shooting.

One man was struck by gunfire and taken to an area hospital, where his condition is unknown, according to Wilson, who declined to comment if anybody else was targeted in the shooting.

The Richland County’s Sheriff Department is asking for the community’s help in locating the shooter, or shooters. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
