Snow day turns tragic for 14-year-old SC boy
A South Carolina teenager died after he was injured playing in the winter weather from last week’s storm.
Brandon Peacock, 14, of St. George, was pronounced dead on Jan. 6, according to Dorchester County Coroner Paul J. Brouthers.
The incident occurred on Jan. 3 in St. George, Brouthers said.
Peacock, a student at Woodland High School, was being pulled on an upside down automobile hood behind a four wheeler ATV when he hit a parked vehicle, according to Brouthers.
Peacock was taken to Trident Medical Center, and then transferred to Medical University Hospital in Charleston, where he was pronounced dead.
Brouthers’ office ordered an autopsy at MUSC and is investigating the incident.
A funeral for Peacock will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday at Memorial baptist Church in St. George. Burial will follow in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery.
Peacock is survived by his parents, John Peacock, Jr. and Heather Kinsey, and siblings Brooke Johnson, Brittany Carico, Brian Infinger, Douglas Kinsey, Ryan Kinsey, Danyelle Kinsey, Samantha Dean, Taylor Johnson and Joselyn Komara, according to his obituary with the Bryant Funeral Home.
