Pedestrian dies in Richland County hit and run, officials seek burgundy truck
A pedestrian was killed late Thursday night in Richland County in a fatal hit and run, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol is seeking the vehicle involved, which they believe is a burgundy 1992 to 2002 Chevrolet or GMC 1500 Series pickup truck. Troopers believe the truck is missing the left side dual headlamp assembly and a section from the left front grill, according to a statement.
The hit and run happened at about 11:40 p.m. on South Cedar Creek Road near St. Mark Road.
Christa Beatrice Alicia Hudson, 20, of South Cedar Creek Road, was killed, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. She died of blunt force trauma to the body.
