Two people shot in early Saturday home invasion in Pelion

The Lexington County Sheriff Department is investigating an early Saturday morning shooting at a residence in Pelion.

Deputies responded around 1 a.m. to a call on the 100 block of Catherine Drive reporting that someone had been shot.

Investigators believe that the homeowner and suspect were both shot in an exchange of gunfire during a home invasion, the department stated on the Lexington County Facebook page.

Both the home owner and suspect have been hospitalized and are expected to recover.
