Aiken County deputy killed in motorcycle wreck identified
The body of an off-duty Aiken County sheriff’s deputy was located in a wooded area near Warrenville Wednesday night, the apparent victim of a motorcycle accident.
The deputy, identified Thursday as 25-year-old Kesli Padgett, was reported missing around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said in a news release. Padgett had been with the department for 2 years, Sheriff Michael Hunt said in a news release.
Deputy Padgett’s body was located at 9:20 p.m. in the woods near the the intersection of Huber Clay Road and Pine Log Road near Warrenville.
The accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and Aiken County Coroner’s office.
