There’s no better measure of a company than the impact it has on the communities it serves, especially the ways it gives back.

In my role as development director of Brookland Foundation, working to serve adults and children in the Columbia area, I have worked alongside Dominion Energy and determined that this is absolutely a company that wants to make life better for the people it serves.

Recently, Dominion stepped up to fund our outreach program for the homeless, not only in the Midlands but also in Calhoun, Colleton, and Hampton counties. where the number of individuals looking for assistance through has skyrocketed. Dominion’s partnership allows us to provide emergency of food, lodging, and medical care.

Dominion is a company with a big heart, which has gained a reputation elsewhere for charitable giving and encouraging employees to volunteer. It’s the kind of corporate citizen we all should support — one with a history of providing excellent service that has a genuine desire to make the Midlands a better place to live.

The State publishes a cross section of the letters we receive from South Carolinians in order to provide a forum for our community and also to allow our community to get a good look at itself, for good or bad. The letters represent the views of the letter writers, not necessarily of The State.
