WR Deebo Samuel out for South Carolina-ECU with a hamstring

When South Carolina’s dress roster for Saturday’s home opener against ECU came out, wide receiver Deebo Samuel was listed at the top.

But he didn’t take the Williams-Brice Stadium field in uniform.

The sophomore and No. 1 target was in shorts when he came out for warm-ups and didn’t participate in drills. It was later confirmed he is out and expects to be back next week.

He hurt his hamstring at the start of last week’s game against Mississippi State.
