Bruce Ellington’s season is over earlier than expected.

On Tuesday, the Houston Texans placed the former South Carolina standout on season-ending injured reserve. Ellington injured his hamstring Sunday in the first quarter of the 24-13 loss to Tennessee.

Ellington was signed by the Texans in August after being cut by the San Francisco 49ers. Houston is playing the 49ers this week.

The former Berkeley standout appeared in 11 games, six starts, this season for Houston. Ellington caught 29 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns. He caught at least three passes in six of 11 games.
