South Carolina’s football season ticket sales for the first year of the Will Muschamp era are virtually identical to those of the final year of the Steve Spurrier era at this point in the process.
As of midweek, the Gamecocks had sold 49,070 season tickets, just 780 short of last year’s total at this time. South Carolina is coming off a 3-9 season and likely will be picked to finish in the bottom half of the SEC East when preseason predictions are released at SEC Media Days later this month.
The school sold 51,110 season tickets overall last season. Season tickets cost $365 each on top of the seat donation paid to be eligible to purchase those tickets. The amount of the seat donation generally determines where the tickets are located in the stadium.
The Gamecocks are looking to boost group sales with themed days, including Youth Football Day, Faith and Family Day and Teacher Appreciation Day at the UMass game on Oct. 22, and Scout Day at the Western Carolina game on Nov. 19. The team’s first-timer sales have increased this year to 3,523 from 2,717.

“Our outbound ticket sales partner, IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions, does a fantastic job selling season and group tickets,” South Carolina senior associate athletics director Charles Bloom told The State via a statement. “Through a proactive strategy, they have created innovative initiatives that have been successful since they’ve come on board in 2013, selling more than 20,000 tickets through group sales annually. We feel that once we get fans into Williams-Brice Stadium, they’ll want to come back for more Gamecock football games.”
South Carolina ranked 16th in the country in home attendance last year with an average of 78,822 fans in Williams-Brice Stadium each game. The stadium holds 80,250 fans. Michigan led the country in attendance with 110,168 fans for each home game. The Gamecocks total was eighth in the SEC.
