South Carolina’s point guard missed the SEC opener. When will Hassani Gravett be back?

South Carolina point guard Hassani Gravett on Sunday watched the Gamecocks’ 74-69 loss to Ole Miss from the bench. He sported a walking book to symbolize his sprained right ankle.

Gravett, who started USC’s first 12 games, could be back on the floor as soon as Wednesday when the Gamecocks (9-4) host Missouri, said coach Frank Martin.

“The expectation from our trainer, himself and me is for him to play against Missouri,” Martin said. “But only God controls healing. The rest of us are sitting back and hoping that healing process takes place the right way.”

Gravett, a junior, leads the Gamecocks in assists. He’s fifth on the team in scoring.

Wes Myers started in Gravett’s place against the Rebels. The senior scored three points, had five assists and four turnovers in 30 minutes.
