South Carolina is in the mix for highly-touted basketball prospect Simi Shittu.
The senior has the Gamecocks in his top 10 he released Sunday night. Others to make the list are Kentucky, North Carolina, Arizona, Vanderbilt, New Mexico, Arizona State, Connecticut, Notre Dame and Oregon.
USC offered Shittu last week and Gamecocks coach Frank Martin watched him play last month.
Shittu is a five-star prospect and the No. 8 player in 247Sports Composite Rankings for the Class of 2018.
Shittu, 6-foot-8, is from Canada but plays high school basketball at Vermont Academy in Saxton’s River, Vt. He averaged 20.1 points and 10.2 rebounds for CIA Bounce in the Nike EYBL Circuit this summer.
USC also made the cut with in-state recruit Aaron Nesmith, who plays at Porter-Gaud. The 6-foot-5 small forward is the third-ranked prospect in South Carolina for the Class of 2018, according to 247Sports.
Nesmith also has Florida, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, Harvard, Yale and Vanderbilt in his top seven.
