Roundup: Ridge View pours on points against Ninety Six; Hammond, Ben Lippen win easy

The first on-campus home game was a successful one for Ridge View.

Ali Kelley scored the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and the Blazers went on for a 68-52 win over Ninety Six on Thursday.

Kelley finished with 205 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Quarterback Jalen Smith threw for 310 yards and rushed for 71 and accounted for five touchdowns.

Ridge View (3-0) amassed 674 yards and its 68 points were a school record.

Lugoff-Elgin 35, Midland Valley 34

At Midland Valley, L-E quarterback Chandler Price rushed for two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 2:33 left, as the Demons overcame a 14-point deficit for their second straight win.

It’s Lugoff-Elgin’s first two-game winning streak since 2010, and the first time Demons are 2-1 since 2009.

Rahmel Burton added two TDs and ran for almost 200 yards for Lugoff-Elgin.

Hammond 28, Laurence Manning 7

At Laurence Manning, Corbett Glick was 16-of-27 for 176 yards and two touchdowns as the Skyhawks extended their winning streak to 27 games.

Running back Anthony Wilson rushed for 109 yards, and Jack Theodore caught five passes for 54 yards and two total touchdowns for Hammond.

Ben Lippen 56, Oakbrook Prep 0

At Ben Lippen, Patrick McClure threw for 111 yards and three scores and rushed for 71 and two TDs for the Falcons.

Bryce Thompson ran for two TDs, and caught a TD pass for Ben Lippen. He finished with 202 all-purpose yards and also had a punt return for a TD.

Chester 36, Keenan 14

At Chester, Malik Williams rushed for 127 yards and accounted for two touchdowns in the Cyclones’ win over the Raiders.

Dimetrius Kershaw rushed for 75 yards and a TD in the loss for Keenan.

Northside Christian 46, Newberry Academy 8

At Newberry Academy, Louis Hunter rushed for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns as Northside improved to 2-0.

Hartsville 61, Camden 20

At Camden, Tiyon Evans rushed for 240 yards and two TDs for the Hartsville, which won for the 12th time in last 13 meetings against the Bulldogs.

James Clair added 166 yards rushing and two TDs for Hartsville.
