SC music festival that was delayed a year by Hurricane Helene has been canceled
A music festival featuring Eric Church and other popular country and rock performers was postponed in 2024 because of the damage Hurricane Helene caused in South Carolina.
Plans were in place for the inaugural Field & Stream Music Fest to be held just north of Columbia this October, but the event has been called off again. Possibly permanently this time.
“Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Field & Stream Music Fest has been canceled,” concert organizers said Wednesday in a Facebook post. Further information about why the event, again scheduled to be headlined by Church, was cancelled was not available.
The second try at the music festival was scheduled to be held Oct. 3-5 at Carolina Adventure World in Winnsboro, about 45 minutes north of Columbia off Interstate 77.
In addition to Church, the North Carolina native who co-owns the festival’s namesake outdoors website with fellow country superstar Morgan Wallen, the music festival was supposed to include performances from Miranda Lambert, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Riley Green, and Bailey Zimmerman among others. In all, more than 40 musicians were slated to take the stage, Country Now reported.
While it’s unclear why the event was canceled, organizers said those who bought tickets will soon be refunded.
“The refund process will commence immediately and will cover all Field & Stream purchases tied to your order, including tickets, upgrades, camping, parking, add-ons, taxes, and fees,” organizers said on the event’s website.
Prices for a 3-day pass to the music festival started at about $200.
In addition to all of the musical performers, the event was scheduled to have fan-friendly events focused on fishing as well as a “GameWatch Football Showdown Village,” American Songwriter reported.
