Lexington’s new Cinnamon Roll Deli sets an opening date. Check out when it is
A beloved Midlands restaurant known for cinnamon rolls, sandwiches and more has set an opening date for a new location in Lexington.
Cinnamon Roll Deli, which has delighted customers for a decade with a location on Columbia’s Devine Street, will have a grand opening of a second location at 309 S. Lake Drive in Lexington on Monday, June 29, according to a news release.
The opening of the Lexington location has been greatly anticipated since the project was initially announced in April. The South Lake Drive Cinnamon Roll Deli, which will be near the heart of downtown Lexington, will be in a building that formerly was home to Cafe Strudel.
The new Lexington restaurant comes from the owners of Columbia’s Devine Cinnamon Roll Deli, Jody Kreush and son Richard Kreush. It has been a well-known spot on Devine Street, just east of Five Points, since it opened a decade ago. The deli has been mentioned on Food Network, and in People Magazine and Southern Living.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the excitement and support from Lexington since announcing this location,” Jody Kreush said in a statement. “People stop by almost daily asking when we’re opening. It’s incredibly humbling, and we’re excited to finally welcome everyone through our doors. We can’t wait to become part of the community and share the food, hospitality, and family traditions that have made Cinnamon Roll Deli so special.”
Following its June 29 debut, Lexington Cinnamon Roll Deli will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The location will have indoor and outdoor seating.
The menu at Cinnamon Roll Deli includes, as you would suspect, a host of cinnamon rolls, including flavors such as apple cobbler, black pepper bacon maple glaze, strawberry cheesecake and bourbon caramel, among others. It also has a deep roster of breakfast sandwiches and grits bowls. At lunchtime the deli has been known for all-beef hot dogs, paninis, sandwiches, soup and more.
Among the many sandwiches on the menu is The Gamecock, which comes with sourdough, ham, turkey, black pepper bacon, cheddar, grilled onions, and Cinnamon Roll Deli mustard.
