New restaurants, businesses opening in the Midlands
Le Peep Cafe in the Vista has closed.
A sign on the front door and a posting on Facebook on Wednesday read:
“For the last 5 years, local owners of Le Peep Café have proudly served the community of downtown Columbia. Now, it is bittersweet we announce the closure of Le Peep Café.
“We will be forever grateful to the people of downtown Columbia who welcomed us. We have developed many friendships and loyal customers over the years, and we shall miss them, but the time has come for us to pursue other endeavors and devote more time to family.
“Many thanks to our staff, customers, and the great city of Columbia. We wish you all the best.”
The note and posting directed customers to Le Peep’s second location at the Village at Sandhill. It is located at 110 Forum Drive, Suite 7, near the Bi-Lo.
The popular brunch spot on the ground floor of the Vista Lofts apartments is the third restaurant in the Vista to close in two months. All three are in the 700 block of Gervais Street.
It was located between Grill Marks burger restaurant and Twisted Spur microbrewery and in front of the new smallSUGAR cafe.
Tin Lizzy’s Tex-Mex restaurant, which was located roughly across the street from Newk’s, closed in February.
The Sandhill location is now the only South Carolina store for Le Peep, a chain based in Littleton, Colo.,-based chain.
