A new restaurant headed to Columbia’s Five Points shopping and nightlife district has set an opening date.
Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint is set to open on Feb. 21, according to a post on the restaurant’s Instagram page. The spot is opening at 711 Harden St., in the building formerly occupied by Cover 3 bar.
Cover 3 has been closed since 2019.
“Hey Columbia, are you ready for some Wagyu beef burgers??” the Columbia Jack Brown’s posted on social media. “How about 90+ different beers??? Let’s throw in some AWESOME staff! The wait is almost over. We are trucking along and almost ready for you!”
Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger joint is a small, but growing, chain that was started in Virginia in 2009. It now has 15 locations across the South and Midwest.
According to the company’s website, its burgers are “are made with 100% Wagyu Beef sourced from a family owned and operated business in Boise Idaho.” Wagyu beef is from a Japanese cattle breed, and the meat is known for its tenderness.
Jack Brown’s is one of a handful of new restaurants that are prepping to set up shop in Five Points. The Flying Biscuit Cafe is going into the spot at 936 Harden St. in the burgeoning Treadwell development, while Furusato Bento, a Japanese eatery, is setting up shop at 748 Harden St.
