A new spot for Asian cuisine debuts in this trendy Columbia-area shopping center
A new restaurant featuring a host of Asian flavors has made its debut in a trendy Midlands shopping center.
CO, which has a number of other locations across the Carolinas, recently opened at 4840 Forest Drive in the Trenholm Plaza shopping center in Forest Acres. That’s about 4 miles east of downtown Columbia.
“Our menu is full of bright, bold flavors from Southeast Asia that everyone can enjoy,” CO says on its website. “Explore new dishes or taste familiar ones; from noodles to pho, sushi to banh mi.”
Among the many items on the CO menu is Vietnamse ramen, which comes with pork belly, shredded pork, poached egg, egg noodles and bok choy, served in a pork broth. There’s also the deluxe com chien, a Vietnamese fried rice dish that includes shanghai sausage, pork, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, edamame, oyster sauce, sesame oil, egg, onions, carrots and scallions.
Other CO locations across the region include spots in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Raleigh and two restaurants in Charlotte. There also is a Durham location coming soon, per CO’s website.
The city of Forest Acres touted the arrival of CO at Trenholm Plaza in a recent social media post and offered some parking tips for the busy shopping center.
“Don’t forget, parking is located on the backside which makes walking up to CO easy through the back breezeway,” the city said. “Just follow the music.”
Trenholm Plaza has been one of the Midlands most enduring shopping hubs. Just some of the retailers in the plaza include Publix, The Fresh Market, Kendra Scott, Bath & Body Works and Sephora. A Chicken Salad Chick restaurant also is planned for Trenholm Plaza.
