One person shot following fight over the weekend, South Carolina sheriff says
One person was shot over the weekend following a fight, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office said Monday night.
The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. on Nov. 30, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Gunfire was reported at the “Mini-Park” on Old Camden Road in the South Winnsboro area of Fairfield County, according to the release. That’s between Interstate 77 and U.S. 321.
One person was shot and injured before being taken to an area hospital, the sheriff’s office said. Further information on the victim’s condition was not available, but the sheriff’s office said that person is still hospitalized.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word about a shooter or shooters, or whether anyone else was involved in the gunfire. Information about what led to the fight was not available.
No arrests have been reported by the sheriff’s office, which is continuing to investigate the shooting.
