Man accused of trespassing at Piggly Wiggly, shoplifting steaks
A man got busted stealing ribeye steaks from Piggly Wiggly in Camden, according to a Camden Police Department incident report.
Police responded to the store on East Dekalb Street just after 5 p.m. on Aug. 8. Howard Lee Johnson, 59, had stolen ribeye steaks worth $37.12, according to the incident report.
A store employee asked law enforcement to issue a trespass notice against Johnson, the report says, but police discovered a notice had already been issued against him in 2005.
This isn’t the first such incident at Midlands grocery stores this year.
West Columbia police arrested a man in May after they said he stole a $68 ribeye from Bi-Lo, and Columbia police responded to Piggly Wiggly on Devine Street in May where a man was said to have stolen $69 worth of meat.
