Report: Man hid a lot of meat on himself then left Piggly Wiggly
Police responded to Piggly Wiggly on Devine Street after a man stole a large amount of meat Sunday morning.
An assistant manager at the store told law enforcement that an unknown man “concealed approximately $69 worth of meat on his person” and left the business, according to a Columbia Police Department incident report.
The incident happened at about 8 a.m., according to the report. “The items were recovered and the subject released,” the report says.
This isn’t the first time a man’s love for meat has gotten the cops called this summer. In May, the West Columbia Police Department arrested a man who they said stole a ribeye worth $68.
