Shocked lottery winner sees huge prize — and thinks he scratched his ticket wrong
An Arkansas man had a “good feeling” as he sat in his driveway after picking up two lottery tickets on a “casual drive.”
Ready to find out if his good feeling would lead to a win, Jonnatan Aguilar or Rogers scratched the first ticket. He won nothing, making him lose hope for his second ticket.
But, the second ticket, which cost $20, was a winner. Aguilar’s “stroke of luck” won him $350,000, according to an Oct. 30 news release from Arkansas Lottery,
The sight of the prize left him speechless.
“I just sat there in silence to compose myself,” Aguilar told lottery officials.. “I thought I scratched it wrong.”
The “awestruck” man called his father who was also in “disbelief,” according to lottery officials.
His dad was worried the ticket was a joke, though Aguilar purchased it at a Kum & Go in Bentonville.
His dad didn’t believe the news until he saw the ticket with his own eyes.
The winner says he plans to help his parents pay off their home, he told officials.
Bentonville is about a 215-mile drive northwest from Little Rock.
