SC woman dies in Georgia hospital after her car collided with an SUV, coroner says

A South Carolina woman died weeks after her car collided with an SUV, the Aiken County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday night.

Sandra L. Trull, a 74-year-old Beech Island resident, was the driver who died Monday as a result of the March 12 accident, Coroner Darryl Ables said.

The two-vehicle collision happened at about 10:40 a.m., according to Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover, of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Trull was driving a 2006 Nissan sedan south on S.C. 125/Atomic Road, and was turning left onto Hammond Road when the car was hit by a northbound 2015 Jeep SUV, Glover said.

Both Trull and the SUV driver were taken to an area hospital, according to Glover. Trull was transferred to Augusta University Medical Center in Georgia where she died, Ables said.

Further information on the condition of the SUV driver was not available.

No other injuries were reported.

There was no word if either driver was wearing a seat belt.

The collision continues to be investigated by the Highway Patrol and coroner’s office.
