Former Gamecocks tailback lands with new NFL franchise
Former South Carolina and Clemson running back Tavien Feaster has a new NFL home.
The speedy back from Spartanburg signed with the New York Giants the team announced. He was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this offseason.
In his lone season in Columbia, Feaster ran for 672 yards with five touchdowns despite missing two games and parts of a few others. He joined USC as a graduate transfer.
Before that, Feaster was an explosive runner for the Tigers. He was a backup on the 2016 national title team, started parts of the next year, but ultimately slipped into a backup role.
For his college career, Feaster ran for 2,002 yards and 20 touchdowns.
He was one of the best running back recruits in the country at Spartanburg, boasting elite speed for a powerhouse program in the state.
The Giants have one Gamecock already on the roster in linebacker T.J. Brunson. The team also cut Kyle Markway earlier this offseason before he landed with the Steelers.
