The Carolina Panthers will start their 2022 NFL season hosting the Cleveland Browns in Charlotte on Sunday at 1 p.m.

In August, Panthers head coach Matt Rhule announced that Baker Mayfield, who was traded by the Browns earlier this year, would be the starting quarterback in the regular season opener.

After the Panthers’ Aug. 26 preseason matchup with the Buffalo Bills in Charlotte, Mayfield had some choice words to describe what he plans to do to his former team, according to Bills sideline reporter Cynthia Frelund.

“I’m gonna [expletive] them up,” Mayfield reportedly said, though he later denied the comment.
