If your Christmas wish is to see Darius Rucker, here’s your chance
If you don’t find those tickets to a Darius Rucker concert you hoped were wrapped up beneath the Christmas tree, don’t despair.
Fans of the former Hootie & the Blowfish front man turned country music star can still see him perform. All they have to do is turn on their television Christmas morning.
The South Carolina native and University of South Carolina alum is part of the lineup in the “Disney Parks’ Magical Christmas Celebration.”
The show will air on ABC from 10 a.m. to noon on Christmas. Rucker took to Twitter to help promote his appearance.
“Hey guys, it’s Darius Rucker. I can’t wait to see you guys Christmas Day for the Disney Parks Christmas celebration. It’s gonna be awesome, make sure you’re there. I’ll see you Christmas morning.”

This is one of the few remaining chances for fans to see Rucker perform in the next few months. The Gamecocks superfan will do a set on college football’s biggest stage. Rucker will headline the free concert that is part of the festivities around the College Football Playoff title game Jan. 8 in Atlanta.
He’s also performing in Nashville on Jan. 22 in the Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots’ Million Dollar Show. That performance is sold out, and most of other dates Rucker is scheduled to perform in 2018 are in Australia.
So after a frenzy of opening gifts, Rucker fans and ABC viewers will have the chance to listen to the three-time Grammy winner perform.
Rucker’s latest album “When Was The Last Time,” has been a hit. He recently tweeted his disbelief over eight of his songs reaching No. 1 on the country music charts.
Eight. Eight country number ones. If you would have asked me when I started this that that would happen, I would have told you you were crazy. What year man! Thank YOU! https://t.co/s6cbrKH0so

He’s becoming a regular fixture on ABC. Rucker recently appeared on the network’s “The Year: In Memoriam,” where he honored the contributions of Chuck Berry and Glen Campbell as the two musical icons died in 2017.
More recently, Rucker has been touring to promote the release of “When Was the Last Time.”
The Charleston native and bandmates formed Hootie & the Blowfish while they were students at South Carolina. He’s known now as one of the Gamecocks biggest fans and can often be spotted at football and basketball games, including a women’s basketball game last week, where he sang the national anthem.
The Hootie & the Blowfish album “Cracked Rear View” went platinum 16 times in the U.S., became the best-selling album of 1995, and was one of the fastest-selling debut albums of all time.
Rucker has been busy when he isn’t performing, or cheering on the Gamecocks or playing golf. He came out with his own brand of whiskey, Backstage Southern Whiskey, and joined the sports agent business, partnering with MGC Sports. Rucker also has his own monthly golf talk show, “On Par with Darius Rucker,” which airs on Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio.
