A popular restaurant chain known for its breakfast is prepping a new location in a growing area of the Midlands.

Eggs Up Grill, which has locations across a number of states, is planning a new restaurant at the Pontiac Towne Center shopping complex at 10508 Two Notch Road in Elgin, near northeast Columbia. That shopping center is anchored by a Food Lion supermarket, which debuted in January.

Signage for the Eggs Up Grill had gone up on the building at Pontiac Towne Center when a reporter went by on Tuesday. There also was a poster in the window that indicated Eggs Up Grill was coming to that space, and the Eggs Up Grill is identified in materials for Pontiac Towne Center from commercial real estate firm Reliance Realty Advisors.

Eggs Up Grill has restaurants across nearly a dozen states, per the locations tool on its website. The company has several locations in the Columbia and Lexington area, and it opened a new location in Greenville on March 9.

The chain is known for its breakfast offerings, including omelets, pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches and more. It also has lunch, including burgers, club sandwiches, BLTs and other offerings.

Pontiac Towne Center is a burgeoning development in the Elgin area. Aside from the aforementioned Food Lion, it has a number of spaces set to be developed for more businesses. Among others, there is a Tokyo Grill restaurant planned for the development, and an Ace Hardware is under construction on an outparcel.

The new shopping center is in a busy, growing area at the corner of Two Notch and Spears Creek Church roads. More than 21,000 cars per day traverse that section of Two Notch Road, per state Department of Transportation data, with more than 10,000 cars per day traveling down Spears Creek Church Road nearby.
