Man lets store clerk pick scratch-off game in Missouri, and now he’s a millionaire
A Missouri man was stunned when he saw how much he won on a lottery scratch-off ticket that a store clerk picked out for him.
The man stopped for gas at a QuikTrip in St. Louis, according to a Dec. 31 news release from the Missouri Lottery.
He said he let the cashier pick out a lottery ticket for him.
“I asked the clerk for any $20 ticket, and this was the one that was picked,” he told lottery officials.
The store clerk gave him a 200X The Cash ticket.
The man went outside and scratched the ticket in the store parking lot, lottery officials said. That’s when he realized he won $2 million.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I looked at it at least 30 times to make sure it was real.”
The man claimed his prize on Dec. 24.
