A Columbia-area Chick-fil-A is closed for renovations. Here’s the timeline for the work
Be patient, Chick-fil-A fans. A Columbia location that has been shuttered for renovations will return soon.
The Chick-fil-A restaurant at 7424 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia is temporarily closed, as noted on an entry for the store on the Chick-fil-A website.
“We’re temporarily closed,” the website says of the Garners Ferry spot. “Pardon the closure (and the lack of chicken). While you wait for the re-opening, visit our Careers section to see if we have a position right for you or find us on social media to learn more.”
Construction workers were on the site when a reporter briefly went by on Wednesday morning.
It doesn’t look like the Garners Ferry Chick-fil-A will be closed for long. The sign out in front of the business says that renovations were happening from Sept. 10 to Sept. 15.
Chick-fil-A, which has more than a dozen restaurants in the Midlands, has been active in updating its local facilities in the last couple years.
For example, the Chick-fil-A at 2299 Augusta Road in West Columbia reopened in May after being closed for three months for a remodeling. And the Chick-fil-A at 294 Harbison Blvd., which was torn down in 2022, was rebuilt and reopened in March.
The Chick-fil-A on Dutch Fork Road was closed earlier this year for remodeling and reopened in late June.
Also, the Chick-fil-A at 10136 Two Notch Road was recently demolished, and a new version of the restaurant will be built back on-site. Chick-fil-A Inc. has said that the 10136 Two Notch Road location plans to reopen this fall, assuming there are few delays.
The Chick-fil-A on Dutch Fork Road in Irmo closed earlier this year and reopened in June after being remodeled.
In 2022 the Chick-fil-A at 2600 Decker Blvd. closed and moved to 7515 Two Notch Road, near Interstate 20. And a new Chick-fil-A opened in March 2022 at 5465 Platt Springs Road near Red Bank.
