Chick-fil-A, the wildly popular chicken sandwich chain, is set to reopen its restaurant at 5440 Forest Drive near Forest Acres. The restaurant, which has been closed since November 2023 for a demolition and complete renovation, will reopen at 6:30 a.m. July 11, 2024, according to a post from the restaurant on Instagram.

“Coming soon, just a few blocks down the road from the City of Forest Acres, is Chick-fil-A Forest Drive,” the restaurant posted on social media. “The restaurant’s complete rebuild includes a brand new building and equipment, a larger kitchen and drive-thru, and additional parking.”

The Forest Drive Chick-fil-A is just west of Fort Jackson and Interstate 77.

There are more than a dozen Chick-fil-A locations in the Midlands, and many of them have gone through improvements, moves, remodels and other upgrades to stores in the last few years.

For example, the Chick-fil-A at 2299 Augusta Road in West Columbia reopened in May 2023 after being closed for three months for a remodeling. And the Chick-fil-A at 294 Harbison Blvd., which was torn down in 2022, was rebuilt and reopened in March 2023.

The Chick-fil-A on Dutch Fork Road was closed for remodeling and reopened in late June 2023.

Also, the Chick-fil-A at 10136 Two Notch Road was demolished in 2023 and a new version of the restaurant was built back on the site.

In 2022 the Chick-fil-A at 2600 Decker Blvd. closed and moved to 7515 Two Notch Road, near Interstate 20. And a new Chick-fil-A opened in March 2022 at 5465 Platt Springs Road near Red Bank.
