People reacted on social media Thursday night after Alex Murdaugh was found guilty for the 2021 murders of his wife, Maggie, and son Paul after nearly three hours of deliberation. Among those reacting was former NFL star O.J. Simpson, who was found not guilty of killing his ex-wife.

Columbia lawyer Eric Bland

“It is extremely sad for Maggie and Paul,” Eric Bland tweeted. Bland represented the sons of Gloria Satterfield after she died on the front steps of the Murdaugh’s home while working as a housekeeper.

O.J. Simpson

“One thing the jury must’ve seen is the guy’s a liar,” Simpson said in a video Thursday night. Simpson, a former NFL star, was found not guilty of killing his ex-wife in the 1990s.

Mandy Powers Norrell

Mandy Powers Norrell expressed concern on Twitter for Alex Murdaugh’s oldest son, Buster, after the verdict. “These cameras zoomed in on Buster are horrible. He is a victim,” Norrell tweeted.

State Rep. Justin Bamberg

Justin Bamberg, D-Bamberg, is a lawyer who represented clients allegedly defrauded by Murdaugh.
