Three-star offensive lineman from Ridge View commits to South Carolina football
South Carolina’s 2027 recruiting class once again has a commit from the Palmetto State.
On Tuesday, Gamecock Central reported that Ridge View offensive lineman James Ross made his pledge to USC after impressing the Gamecocks coaches at a Shane Beamer football camp earlier in June.
Ross is currently the only South Carolina native in the Gamecocks’ 10-man 2027 recruiting class after four-star WR Jaiden Kelly-Murray decommitted in April.
Ross, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound interior offensive lineman, is ranked as the No. 18 player in South Carolina and a top-65 interior OL in the nation. He has also gotten scholarship offers from App State, Cincinnati, Rutgers, North Carolina and others.
The Gamecocks now have four offensive linemen who have pledged to the 2027 class, with Ross joining three stars Will Endicott (Texas), Jaxon Elston (Alabama) and Clayton Lee (Florida).
With Ross’ commitment, the Gamecocks 2027 recruiting class remained at No. 67, according to the 247 Sports’ rankings.
