South Carolina football adds well-traveled defensive lineman out of transfer portal
The transfer additions are rolling in for South Carolina.
On Saturday, the Gamecocks added four players from the transfer portal — capped off by Ferris State OL Dayne Arnett, the fourth offensive lineman to transfer to South Carolina in 2026.
Just over 12 hours later, the Gamecocks earned a commitment from Illinois transfer DL Tomiwa Durojaiye.
Durojaiye, who announced his pledge with a post on social media, started eight games for the Illini as a redshirt junior in 2025. He racked up 16 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks and received All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition.
A former three-star prospect from Deleware, Durojaiye was recruited by the Gamecocks out of high school but signed with Kentucky in 2022.
And, well, he’s been moving around ever since.
South Carolina will be his fifth program in five years after redshirting at Kentucky (’22), having a productive season at West Virginia (’23), struggling to see the field at Florida State (’24) and becoming a starter at Illinois (’25).
Now he’ll try and find a role at South Carolina.
